Responsibilities
I am from Charleston, SC, born and raised. It is such a beautiful place with many tourists and friendly people. I now live in Clemson, SC where I attend Tri-County Technical College. I find myself constantly missing home and wanting to visit almost every other weekend. The transition from always seeing my mom and my close friends to seeing unfamiliar faces and surrounding myself in an unfamiliar environment has been extremely difficult. Adjusting to my new life has its ups and downs. No one is there to tell me that I must attend class and have my homework turned in on time, no one to tell me that I have a curfew, and no one to stress to me that I have to make good grades. It is all up to me to be responsible for myself and doing what needs to be done on a daily basis. At times I find myself calling up my mom to get that extra push and words of encouragement when I think that times get hard. Moms will always be there for you, but in the end it is all up to you! I know I can get through it.
Shoulder Surgery
I tore my Labrum, in my shoulder playing volleyball, my Junior year of high school. I had surgery on it to repair the labrum in April of 2010. I was forced to rehab my shoulder for nine to twelve months. I ended up rehabing with in six months in order to get some playing time during my senior season. I was able to come back the last two weeks of the season and by that time I had lost all of my scholarship opportunities. I was so upset. The week that I was released from the rehab center I tore my labrum again and had to have surgery again. I am currently in rehab and praying that this time it works! I have to attend rehabilitation at least two to three times a week. It is very stressful trying to attend college and work all at the same time. Somehow I have managed to fit it all in and continue to make good grades.
